They say the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. That doesn't apply with our yard. Unfortunately, the green is weeds because the bermuda turf grass around here doesn't start coming up until it gets really warm, and with the spring we are having, that might be a while yet. Fortunately, we are going to win the weed war this year! I put out some preemergent this year to prevent new weeds, and I just went out yesterday and sprayed our existing weeds. Already their leaves and stems are beginning to curl. Sweet victory!
In spite of the weeds, there are some really exciting things going on in the garden right now. The Firedragon Maple and the vinca vine ground cover are in bloom, the roses and red tips are full of beautiful new red growth, and the tulips and mountain laurels are about to bloom. It is satisfying to watch the beauty of the Earth this time of year. We are truly blessed by a loving Heavenly Father who seeks to delight us with the works of his hands.
